The effect created by combining geometrical shapes and decorations on floorings has always been one of the most powerful ways of enhancing an environment. A trend that had gradually become less and less popular recently, as the costs of materials and their installation continued to rise. 
Today, the technological evolution which has drastically changed the production of porcelain stonewaretiles now enables the coverings to be designed by combining tiles with decorative elements, so bringing real ceramic drawings, panels or rugs to life. 

For example, the Bit&Pieces collection designed for Ceramiche Piemme by Gordon Guillaumier combines monochrome tiles with decorations resembling pieces of wood that are inserted directly into the stone, true original 'wooden Palladian floor tiles' but also easy to lay!
One more reason why the collection was proclaimed a winner at the ADI Ceramics Design Awards 2016.
